Hot ACS hosts Barren, seeks 2-0 start

This past weekend Coach Bradley Hood and Allen County-Scottsville finally got the early season monkey off their back, the Patriots recording their first season-opening victory since 2010 with a 39-7 triumph over Hart County at Campbellsville University on Saturday night.

The Patriots (1-0) will look to continue the winning momentum tonight, playing host to the Barren County Trojans.

The main impact players to watch for the Patriots tonight are senior quarterback Chase Wilson and junior wide receiver Jacob Lightfoot. Wilson completed 13-of-19 passes for 278 yards and six touchdowns in the win over the Raiders Saturday night, with Lightfoot bringing down nine receptions—five of them being for a touchdown—for a whopping 198 receiving yards.

The ACS defense will also be something to keep an eye on tonight. The Patriots forced a rather impressive five turnovers (three interceptions, two fumble recoveries) while limiting Hart County to just one touchdown.

Meanwhile, the Trojans (0-1) will be looking to rebound following a 50-7 loss at Casey County last Friday night. Quarterback Dalton Ford will be looking to build off his performance from last week, the sophomore completing 13-of-37 passes for 270 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

Allen County-Scottsville has won the past two games against Barren County since the series resumed in 2015, the Patriots taking a 54-6 decision over the Trojans on September 16 of last year. The game tonight is set to start at 7:00 p.m. at Allen County-Scottsville High School.
