Lady Raiders Fall Short, but Offensive Effort Hits Season High

_MG_4263Looking to end Homecoming on a high note, the Lady Colonels took the court against the Lady Raiders of Warren East. Caverna jumped out to an 18-10 advantage midway through the second period. Erin Richmond’s squad, led by the free throw shooting of Caylin Howard, answered with an 11-1 run to end the half. The Lady Raiders took a 2 point lead, 21-19, into the break. The second half storyline can be summed up in a name, Madison Faulkner. Faulkner scored the first nine points of the third period for the Lady Colonels and was responsible for four more consecutive points via the assist. Erin Houchins attempted to keep it cloes hitting two second half three-pointers and a few free throw line jumpers but the guard play of the Lady Colonels proved to be too much to handle. Caverna made their money from the foul line in the second half, icing it down the stretch behind the shooting of Faulkner and Ciara Waggoner.
