Prediction
Franklin-Simpson and Logan County have qualified for the 4th Region Tournament in each of the last nine seasons. Seeding-wise, the Wildcats and Cougars are favored to do so for a tenth-consecutive year. However, everyone knows you still have to play the game. Todd County Central (12-13) will be looking to play spoiler after splitting the season series with Logan County (17-16). The Rebels are led by Gavyn Nolan and his .382 batting average. The senior has 26 runs, 25 RBI, five doubles, and three triples. The Cougars hope to win back-to-back district titles behind the dynamic bats of Davin Yates and Chance Sweeney. The junior duo are each batting well over .400 and have combined for 95 hits, 70 runs, 66 RBI, and nine home runs.
The 1-seed Wildcats utilize Brevin Scott both on the mound and at the plate. The junior is 6-1 in nine starts with a 1.84 ERA, while batting .322 with 28 hits and 19 RBI. Franklin-Simpson may be 12-19 overall, but Matt Wilhite’s club went 5-1 in district play and are peaking at the right time after winning four of six to close the regular season.
