15th District Basketball Tournament Set

Allen County-Scottsville and Monroe County will play in the first round of the District 15 girls and boys basketball tournament at Barren County High School later this month.

The fourth-seed Lady Patriots (13-12, 1-5) —their seed determined by draw at the District 15 tournament meeting Thursday night—will play one-seed Monroe County (25-2, 6-0) at 6 p.m. on Monday, February 20. Second-seed Glasgow (21-3, 4-2) will play third-seed Barren County (16-11, 1-5) in the nightcap, 25 minutes following the first game Monday night.

The girls’ championship game will be played on Thursday, February 23 at 7 p.m. at Barren County. The district champion and runner-up will advance to the Region 4 tournament slated to begin on Sunday, February 26 at Western Kentucky University.

The third-seed Patriots (9-15, 3-3) —their third seed position determined by draw—-will face second-seed Monroe County (13-11, 3-3) on Tuesday, February 21. The game will be the second of the evening. One-seed Barren County (13-14, 6-0) will play four-seed Glasgow (3-20, 0-6) at 6 p.m. followed by the AC-S/Monroe County match-up.

The boys’ championship game will be played Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m. at Barren County. The District champion and runner-up will advance to the Region 4 tournament slated to begin on Tuesday, February 28 at Western Kentucky University.
