The Raiders are Ready – Well, at least look the part. Since taking over for Anthony Boone, head coach Chad Griffin came over from Central Hardin and as helped rebuild the Hart County football team which won just five games the last two seasons to one which pounded out seven wins and an effective offense around a large senior class. Quarterback John Shoulders has passed for 1,121-yards and 11-TDS, while runningback Daveon Wood has run for 1,065-yards and Dustin Butler has 763 and 11-TDS. Devin Roten has 25 catches and Wood leads the defense with 138-tackles and has allowed just 251-points in eleven games. Hart County travels to Paducah Tilghman (8-2).
And so are the Panthers – After starting the season 0-3 for the first time since coming to Elizabethtown, head coach Mark Brown’s team has rebounded quite nicely going 6-1 the rest of the way despite losing the last regular season meeting against Glasgow. Elizabethtown got back to their roots running the ball and averaging 30-or-more points during that stretch. The defense went back to their shutdown intensity allowing under two touchdowns a game also. Quarterback Clay Games, after a rough start has thrown for 1,152-yards and 13-TDS, while runners Joseph Becherer and Trayjan Bradley have combined for 1,650-yards and 16-TDs and receiver Camden Williams has nabbed 28-balls. Becherer leads the defense with 87-tackles. Elizabethtown will host Trigg County.
Trojans Ready for TAKEOFF! There’s no question that North Hardin is the best team in the area. After going 8-2 against some of the best teams in the area, head coach Brent Thompson has built together the best squad since he’s been here and there are so many ways for them to beat you that they are a defensive coodinator’s nightmare. The O-Line is big up front and quarterback Eric Moore (2,036-yards 25-TDs) has plenty of targets to go to. Moore is a threat to run as well along with sophomore tailback Lavell Wright who tallied 1,114-yards and 15-TDS. Moore’s prime target is younger Josh with over 1,049-yards and 15-TDs. The defense has allowed just 124-points in 10-games and is tied for fourth place in 6-A points allowed. The Trojans host DuPont Manuel tonight.
Return to Glory for the Bulldogs! Well at least pretty close as of recent. Okay! They lost a tough road game to Moore (34-7), but since that 1-2 start, the Bulldogs were on a 6-0 tear scoring at will and allowing just single digits during five of the six wins. The offense has been steady if not spectacular under quarterback Justin Russell, who threw for 1,135-yards and 15-TDs. His primary target has been Darion Davis and Deshawn Johnson. The running game has been consistent with Dominik Hodges and Will Cason and the defense is led by Navash Daley (147-tackles). John Hardin hosts East Jessamine tonight at 8:00pm.
The Eagles are FLYING high! After their 14-8 win over LaRue County to close out the regular season, Campbellsville has been a pleasant surprise putting together a quiet 9-1 record after following up with a Final Four appearance last year. The Eagles, under head coach Dale Estes has scored 403-points and allowed just 157. The offense is led by young Arren Hash with 1,591-yards passing and 28-TDs against just 5-INT. His most dependable target is runner Malachi Corley, who has 30-catches and 871-yards running along with 18-TDs combined. The defense is led by Tristan Johnson with 84-tackles and 41-QB sacks. The defense has also totaled 23 takeaways. Their first playoff game will be next week taking on the winner of Russellville and Fort Knox.
Hawks ready to Atone for Mistakes during regular season! Despite a 5-5 regular season record, head coach Josh Jaggers and his LaRue County Hawks are ready to make up for that. After finishing the regular season with a 14-8 loss at home to 1-A Campbellsville on a muddy field, the Hawks welcome Union County this Friday. LaRue County has been led by their powerful running game all season long and the ability for any defense to slow down Anthony Atkins and Jerimaih Belton is the key to victory. The Hawks have averaged 40-points or more in their five wins, but less than 20 in their five losses. LaRue County has rushed for more than 3,000-yards on the ground and around 400 passing.
