Raiders Holiday Hoops Classic Underway, Move to 7-1

The Holidays are finally here! The Raiders looked to continue their winning ways in the Warren East Holiday Hoops Classic Monday night at Greenwood High School versus Hopkins County Central. This tournament was moved from Warren East High School to Greenwood High School due to maintenance projects in the gym. The first quarter was an indication of the kind of night Warren East would have; as they led 33-14 after one. Mackenzie Strange had 14 and Kaleb Britt had 8 to lead the Raiders; DaMontae Barnhill had 7 to lead the Storm. The second quarter was much of the same for Warren East, defense leading to offense. The Raiders would head into the half up 55-36; Strange had 19 and Kaleb Britt had 12 to guide Warren East. Barnhill had 17 to keep Hopkins County Central within range. The second half would continue in favor of the Raiders thanks to their explosive offense and turnover forcing defense. Warren East outscored the Storm 31-26 in the third quarter and 20-14 in the fourth quarter to blow out Hopkins County Central 106-76. The story of the second half continued to be Strange (31 points) and Kaleb Britt (26 points) as they could not be stopped. Barnhill lead the Storm with 28 points. The Bluegrass Cellular Player of the Game was Kaleb Britt with 26 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and several assists. He continues to put up impressive numbers this season, just an incredible player! The Raiders (7-1, 1-0 District) will play Todd County Central (0-7, 0-2 District) tomorrow night at 5 pm in day # 2 of the Warren East Holiday Hoops Classic at Greenwood High School.
