Purples Outscore Red Devils By 28, Lady Purples Win by 43

Amidst the snow flurries, the Purples and Lady Purples traveled up the Natcher to take on Owensboro for a Tuesday night doubleheader.  It was a chance to catch both teams play outside the region as the regular season winds down.

The Lady Purples took control early, and dominated the entire contest.  With running clock in play by the fourth quarter, Bowling Green cruised to victory 70-27.

Then the Purples took to the floor, looking for revenge against the squad that bested them three times last season.  Granted, most of the players on the state championship team graduated after last season, but Bowling Green had plenty motivation for this matchup on the road.

The Purples didn’t have much trouble either.  After a slow start, Bowling Green started to control the glass and the pace of the game in the second quarter.  Ending the half on a 20-2 run, the Purples had a comfortable lead to say the least.  14 players got in the scorebook before the final buzzer sounded, as Bowling Green won big on the road 86-58.  Kyran Jones led the way with 23 points.

We hit the road again tomorrow night, an out of region doubleheader with Christian County.  Purples face the #1 team in the state tomorrow night on SportingTimesMagazine.com!
