As if Erin Boley hasn’t had enough go right in her senior season, she can add another honor to her long list of achievements. She was named to the McDonalds All American game during the Selection Show on ESPNU last Sunday night when they announced the names of the teams for the All Star game. It was reported that Boley actually saw the complete rosters on the USA Today website about 15-minutes just before they were announced. “I actually saw the lineups on USA Today’s website just a few minutes before it came on TV.” Her reaction was one of excitement as you would expect. “I was very excited as were my parents.
It was a Sunday Night and we didn’t have the school the next day. We didn’t really go out and celebrate, but we did finish watching the show.” The McDonalds All Star games will be played on March 30th in the United Center in Chicago and Boley is obviously excited for the opportunity to play there. “It’s a great honor and it’s very special. I’ve been watching the game since I was a little girl. I’ve watched many players that I’ve played against and known in the game so it’s something that will be really special.” The Girls game will be first at 6:30 on ESPNU and the Boys game will follow at 9:00 on ESPN. Boley follows Makayla Epps (Marion County), Rebecca Greenwell (Owensboro Catholic) and Sara Hammond (Rockcastle County) to be named to play in the game from Kentucky.
She will play on the East squad. Boley, who has already committed to Notre Dame and currently plays on the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers are headed towards another successful season. Boleyn just recently broke the 3,000-point mark in scoring for the Lady Panthers.
