Glasgow, ACS meet Friday with perfect records on line

Glasgow and Allen County-Scottsville are both off to strong starts on their respected 2017 seasons, as both teams have yet to lose a single game.

However, that’ll change for one of the two clubs on Friday night when the Patriots host the Scotties at 7 p.m. in Scottsville in a Week 4 battle of the unbeaten.

Glasgow (3-0) won last season’s meeting against Allen County-Scottsville, 28-26, on Sept. 9 at ACS and enters this year’s edition following a 41-3 win over Fort Campbell in Week 2. Quarterback Dalvin Smith completed 12-of-22 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 134 yards and a pair of scores.

The Patriots (3-0) are carrying momentum from a 26-23, come-from-behind victory Saturday over Greenwood. Quarterback Chase Wilson threw for 266 yards and two TDs — both to wide receiver Jacob Lightfoot, who tallied 146 receiving yards — and running back Kelly Weber rushed for 34 yards and a score.

As Glasgow started 4-0 in 2016, Allen County-Scottsville hasn’t done so since 2010 — a season in which the Patriots went 13-1 and were Class 4A state runner-ups.

The Scotties are ranked No. 6 in Class 2A in the latest Kentucky Associated Press poll while the Patriots are 10th in 4A.
