Purples look to keep district train running against Grayson

The Purples (4-2) have been rolling since losing back-to-back games earlier in the season. Coming off of a 49-19 district-opening win over Greenwood, Bowling Green will look to keep that success going when they travel to Grayson County on Thursday evening.

The Cougars (1-5) have struggled through a brutal schedule and it will not get any easier down the road, but there are very winnable games for Grayson later in the season.

Kickoff is slated for 7:00 pm.


Grayson County

Overview: The Cougars have struggled offensively all year long, most notably through the air, where they have 161 passing yards on the season. Evan Embry leads Grayson County on the ground with 291 rushing yards on 69 carries and one score. Logan Kopp has chipped in 151 rushing yards and another score. Ethan Cates leads the Cougar defense with 28 tackles.

Bowling Green

Overview: The Purples have been their usual force with a balanced offensive attack. Quarterback Beau Buchanan has filled in nicely with 1157 passing yards and 10 touchdowns with no interceptions on the 2017 season. Ziyon Kenner has been the main target, hauling in 35 passes for 461 yards and five touchdowns while also being a huge threat in the return game. The two-headed monster of Dazhon Blakely and Vito Tisdale has done wonders for Bowling Green’s backfield. Tisdale has run for 268 yards on 41 carries and six touchdowns while Blakely has broken out for 228 yards and five scores on 43 carries.
