SHOWTIME BULLDOGS BEAT BRUINS!

                                                          SHOWTIME BULLDOGS BEAT BRUINS!

There’s no question that the John Hardin Bulldogs are a talented team this season. Much like North Hardin with Tony Jackson, Trace Young, Gavin Root and James Pitre last season, the Bulldogs can’t just score and play defense, but they can soar thanks to Mickey Pearson and Malik Wright. The SHOWTIME Bulldogs showed off their act last night at home in front of a nervous crowd and their District Rival the Central Hardin Bruins and despite a slow start began to go into their aerial act almost immediately. as Pearson got the crowd roaring with a rim rattling dunk, then followed up with another.

The Bulldogs had six for the game and each one seemed to be a little more exciting than the last as John Hardin continued building on the energy it created.

Although the Bulldogs are currently undefeated coming into the game, Central Hardin was coming off a tough blowout loss to Elizabethtown, the team many picked as the second best in the District and had plenty of desire to prevent that from happening again and might have except for a short period just before the half when they allowed a jumper by wright and a three at the buzzer by junior Jachai Walker as the Bulldogs built a 43-32 lead and then a period as the third quarter opened when careless ball handling by the Bruins led to several run outs and a 49-32 lead.

Pearson led the way with 28-points, followed by Alex Matthews with 20 and Wright with 16. Of his 16-points scored, two which didn’t show up happened on a showtime dunk which was disallowed because it was ruled that he slapped the backboard to hard drawing a technical. Still, Wright’s horizontal act didn’t fail to energize the crowd as the Bulldogs pulled out a 93-69 win.

John Hardin’s  5th straight win without a defeat was full of great highlights. The Bulldogs have proved that they can score like the Warriors (they have averaged at least 80-points in all of their wins so far) and can play pretty good defense and should be a challenge for any team they face.

Next up for the SHOWTIME Bulldogs is a trip to North Hardin Friday night. Varsity tipoff is 7:30.
