District 14 Baseball Tournament | Bracket, Information, Preview

The 2019 high school baseball regular season is officially in the books, but the action on the diamond is just now heating up as the District 14 Baseball Tournament is scheduled to take place from Monday to Wednesday at Bowling Green’s Harold J. Stahl Field.

As all five teams enter with hopes of taking home the trophy, only one club will be crowned district champions.

Here’s a rundown of the tournament, which will make for three exciting days of postseason baseball action.


District 14 Baseball Tournament Seeding: 

  1. Bowling Green
  2. South Warren
  3. Greenwood
  4. Warren East
  5. Warren Central

District 14 Baseball Tournament Schedule:

  • Monday, May 20 – No. 4 Warren East (15-21, 4-8) vs. No. 5 Warren Central (8-20, 0-12) – 6 p.m.

Notes: Warren East enters the tournament having lost three of its last four games, while Warren Central has won three straight. … The Raiders swept the regular-season series over the Dragons with wins of 8-0, 4-1 and 10-1. … East senior pitcher and Louisville signee Ryan Hawks is hitting .381, while catcher Nolan Ford is batting .324. … Expect the Raiders not to pitch Hawks Monday in hopes of saving him for Tuesday’s semifinals should they defeat the Dragons. … Winner will meet top-seeded Bowling Green.

  • Tuesday, May 21 – No. 1 Bowling Green (26-10, 10-2) vs. No. 4 Warren East OR No. 5 Warren Central – 5 p.m.

Notes: Bowling Green is the hottest team entering the tournament having won 10 of its last 11. … The Purples swept both Warren East and Warren Central in the regular season. … Joe Howard leads BG with a .405 batting average, while Jackson Haga is hitting .344. … On the mound, Haga is 8-1 on the season with 77 strikeouts and a 1.26 ERA. … Winner advances to Wednesday’s district final.

  • Tuesday, May 21 – No. 2 South Warren (25-11, 9-3) vs. No. 3 Greenwood (20-10, 7-5) – 7:30 p.m.

Notes: South Warren enters the tournament after going 3-5 in its final eight regular season games, while Greenwood has won four straight and six of its last seven. … The Gators took two of the three games against the Spartans in the regular-season series. … Trent Rice is batting .421 for South Warren, while Dell Henk is hitting .438 for Greenwood. … Winner advances to Wednesday’s district final.

  • Wednesday, May 22 – Championship – 6 p.m.

Notes: The two participants will both advance to the Region 4 Tournament.
