Clinton County Zaps Franklin-Simpson

Clinton County was giving up size, and quickness, against the likes of Franklin-Simpson in the KHSAA Fourth Region Tournament on Wednesday night in the KHSAA Fourth Region Tournament at E.A. Diddle Arena.
And it bothered the Bulldogs not one bit.
Clinton County never trailed and thoroughly outplayed Franklin-Simpson, beating the Wildcats 53-42.
“We may not look the part,” Clinton County coach Todd Messer said, “but we’re going to keep playing.”
Clinton County improved to 24-7 and will face Warren Central, a 77-49 winner over Barren County, in the semifinals Monday.
“I’m really proud of our kids, after a phenomenal week of preparation,” Messer said. “It was an all-out effort. No fear. You look fear in the eye and go foreward.”
Franklin-Simpson, which finished its season 14-16, struggled against the efficient Bulldogs the entire game. Andreyes Miller led the WIldcats with 25 points.
“We just didn’t play well,” Frankin-Simpson coach Dee Spencer said.
The Wildcats used a trapping defense to force 17 turnovers, giving themselves a chance. But Clinton County took good shots, and made them count,  shooting 53.8 percent from the field.
Chase Stines led the Bulldogs with 13 points.  Teammates Blake Melton and Nick Brown each finished with 10 points,
