Dialed In: LWC’s Reagan Turner weighs-in on post MSC Championships aftermath

Most in South Central Kentucky recognize Regan Turner for her accomplishments on the court for Monroe County High School (Ky.). The former Lady Falcon basketball standout scored over 2,000 career points! Additional High School achievements include a Class “A” State Championship as a senior where she was named the tournament’s most valuable player, First Team All-Region as a junior and senior, and Three-time member of the Class “A” Regional All-Tournament team.

Some highlights from Turner’s career at Lindsey Wilson College.

On MAR 16, 2020 Turner was named to the WBCA NAIA All-America Team. Dialed In caught up with her after the Mid-South Conference Championships.

Lindsey Wilson finished with a 26-6 record and earned a berth into the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Tournament field. The season was cut short after the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19.

Regan Turner, former Monroe County Basketball standout is currently a Junior on the basketball team at Lindsey Wilson.

March 16, 2020: Reagan Turner has been named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association NAIA All-America team, WBCA officials announced on Monday.

The Gamaliel, Ky., junior, earns her second straight WBCA honor.

Turner averaged a Mid-South Conference-best 18.9 points per game this season. She ended the 2019-20 season leading the NAIA in 3-point shooting, making 45.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.

Turner shot 45.5 percent from the field this season while averaging 4.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per outing.

In addition to earning the WBCA honor, Turner was named first-team all-conference earlier this season.

Turner is one of three women from the Mid-South Conference selected to the WBCA All-America team. Shawnee State’s (Ohio) Bailey Cummins and Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Madison Faulkner also earned the distinction.

March 8, 2020: A stagnant first 20 minutes ultimately cost Lindsey Wilson women’s basketball in a 76-70 loss to Shawnee State (Ohio) today in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals at Bowling Green Arena.

January 29, 2019: Turner named NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, NAIA, She becomes the fifth different Blue Raider to pick up the national recognition in the program’s history.

Turner lead the Mid-South Conference in scoring this season, averaging 19.6 points per game. She also leads the MSC in field goal percentage (48.1 percent), ranks third in free throw shooting (82.8) and fourth in assists per game (3.1). Nationally, Turner is eighth in scoring, 16th in field goal percentage and 23rd in free throw percentage.

Tuner has recorded double-digit points in all but one game this season while eclipsing the 20-point plateau eight times. In her five Mid-South games this season, Turner is averaging 25.2 points per game while shooting over 53 percent from the field.

FRI February 8, 2019: COLUMBIA, Ky. — Lindsey Wilson sophomore Reagan Turner eclipsed the 1,000-point mark on Thursday night in the Blue Raiders’61-59 setback to host Pikeville (Ky.) at the UPike Gym.

Turner becomes the 13th Blue Raider in the program’s history to reach 1,000 points. She achieved the mark in 58 career games — the fourth fastest in the program’s history.

The Gamaliel, Ky., native, is leading the Mid-South Conference in scoring and ranks seventh in the NAIA this season while shooting 46 percent from the field. Following her 18-point performance on Thursday, Turner is averaging 20.2 points per game this season.

Turner has notched double-digits in all but one game this season, including 12 20-point games. She recorded her career-high with 32 points in the Blue Raiders’ win earlier this season over Pikeville.

“Reagan has had a terrific season to this point,” John B. Wethington said. “Everyone can see that she is having a great offensive season, but she does so much more for this team than score. She is a terrific defender and an outstanding leader.”

In addition to her scoring prowess, Turner is averaging 3.6 rebounds and a team-high 3.2 assists per outing. She is also third in the conference with 54 steals this season.

Lindsey Wilson is 16-8 this season, including 6-4 in the Mid-South Conference.
