Bowling Green High Senior wide receiver Nacarius Fant was named 2013 Kentucky Mr. Football. Fant is the first Purple to win the esteemed award and only the second from the area. Fant said, “This award means a lot. I can’t thank my coaches and teammates enough for making this happen, without them this isn’t possible. When I found out it was just shocking and definitely a memory that will stick with me for the rest of my life!”
Fant finished 2013 with 83 receptions for 1,699 yards and 24 touchdowns, leading the Purples to their third straight undefeated season and Class 5A state title. Nacarius owns every major receiving record in Purple’s history finishing with 4,473 career receiving yards (3rd in state history), 52 touchdowns (tied for 4th) and 227 receptions (tied for 5th). Fant has verbally committed to play at WKU under Coach Bobby Petrino next fall.
