Hornets Score Buckets Aplenty, Get First Win of Season

After a couple of tough road game over the past few weekends, the Hornets came home looking for their first win of the season.  They hosted a River City Panther squad also looking for their first win._MG_6953
Bowling Green jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter, but the Panthers closed out the first with a 14 point run to make it a 1 point game 31-30.  They continued to carry the momentum to start the second quarter, gaining a double digit lead, but the Hornets fought back to trail by 2 at the half 66-68.  In the second half, it continued to be a back and forth game, until Daquon Brown came in for BG and scored eight points at the end of the period, giving the Hornets a 104-98 lead.  Then BG turned on the jets, scoring 47 points in the fourth quarter, and getting the victory 151-129!  Kalen Kimberland led the Hornets with 29 points.  Three Hornets scored over 20, with 4 more reaching double figures.
The Hornets get a break for a few weeks, but will take to the road on April 5th, taking on the Middle Tennessee Storm for a third time.  Can the Hornets find a victory in Music City?  Be sure to join us on BGHornets.com to find out!
