After coming off a 42-7 home win last week, the undefeated South Warren Spartans took to the road to face off against the Edmonson County Wildcats. The Spartans drove down the field for scores in their first drive and each half, and played well on defense, keeping Edmonson Co. off the scoreboard, and headed back to Warren County with a 40-0 victory and a 6-0 record.
All season long, Ryder Litten has been developing into the Spartan quarterback of the future, and he had his most balanced night offensively yet in his young career, passing for 131 yards on seven completions and two touchdowns, as well as ran for 133 yards on eight carries, also finding the endzone twice.
When Litten did distribute the ball, he found the usual suspects of his favorite targets. Julius Allen ran for 128 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown, and in the second half, the work load shifted to Kayron Namvong, who did all of his damage of 102 yards on 14 touches in the final two quarters.
In his second week as an offensive weapon, Brycen Lacey joined Litten in the multiple-touchdown club, one being an 18-yard end-around running score, and the other a 20 yard touchdown catch.
The Spartans are hitting their stride at the right time, and will welcome in Daviess County to Spartan Stadium next week.
