WC’s Bowman Explodes for 33 leads Dragons past East. Lady Dragons cruise past Lady Raiders

The first game of a doubleheader, the Warren Central Lady Dragons blew out the Lady Raiders of Warren East 64-32. After taking a 18-0 lead after the first period, the Lady Dragons never looked back earning their sixth (6-9) win of the season.

Warren Central used their size advantage all night dominating in the pain against the smaller Lady Raiders. Tia Barnett found her groove early scoring ten points alone in the first period, while finishing with a game-high 25 for the night. The Dragons also got production from their true center Karajah Leach who ended with 12 while senior Zakoria Hill added 11 of her own.

The Lady Raiders drop to 0-10 on the season while the Lady Dragons gain a victory in their first district game of the season. Warren Central’s next game will be tomorrow, Jan 8th at Barren County, the site of another doubleheader.

The second game of a double header, the Warren Central Dragons also earned their first district victory of the season defeating Warren East 82-67. A two point game until the final period, the Dragons used a career performance by senior Darrel Bowman, who scored 33 points, to coast to victory.

A back-and-forth affair for most of the night, it was free throw shooting and turnovers what gave the edge to Warren Central. The Dragons had good effort from several role players including Ziyan Miliken who finished with 18 points and Skeylar Potter with 11. The win snapped a two game losing streak for the Dragons and advanced their record to 10-5 on the season. They will next play tomorrow, Jan 8th at Barren County in the second leg of a doubleheader.
