Satterfield’s 18 Leads Raiders past Gators for District Win. Lady Raiders fall.

The Lady Raiders traveled to Greenwood Friday night hoping for their first district win of the season. The game would be competitive again in the first half. Warren East defended well in the first and trailed 8-5 after one. Greenwood outscored the Lady Raiders 15-9 in the second to take a 23-14 lead into halftime. Haylee Glenn led Warren East with 6. Alexus Jessup led the Lady Gators with 8. In the second half Greenwood would impose its will on Warren East. They outscored them 30-21 to win the game 53-35. Lack of offense really hurt the Lady Raiders tonight. Greenwood was led by Rose Mary Jackson with 13. Baylen Wardlow led the Lady Raiders with 9 and was the Bluegrass Cellular Player of the Game. Warren East (1-14, 0-4 district) will play the rescheduled game against Bowling Green tomorrow night at home.
The Raiders went across town Friday night hoping to spoil the Greenwood Gators homecoming night and sweep the regular season series 2-0. The game was set up to be another track meet, and it was just that. The first half was mainly defensive, as Warren East got outscored by Greenwood 21-16 to head into the half down just that. Khalil Britt led the Raiders with 8. Dawson Crump and Stephen Sanders led the Gators with 8 points each. The second half would pick up a bit, as the Raiders offense started to get going. Patrick Satterfield led the charge for Warren East in the third with 11 points to give the Raiders a 39-34 lead after three. Warren East would hang on in the fourth to win a tight one 53-48. The Raiders forced 17 turnovers and limited the Gators big man Caleb Miller to 10 points. Dawson Crump led Greenwood with 17. Patrick Satterfield led the Raiders with 18 points and was the Bluegrass Cellular Player of the Game. Warren East (12-8, 3-1 district) will travel to Cumberland County Tuesday night in a girl-boy doubleheader at 6 and 7:30.
