Gators Steam Roll Over Grayson County 63-6

The Greenwood Gators dominated the Grayson County Cougars in a 63-6 route to improve to 2-0 in district play.
The Gators set the tone from the opening kickoff. Malcolm Johnson picked up the low-line drive kick, found his hole, and took it to the house to give Greenwood a very quick 7-0 lead. The Gators doubled their lead on the very next possession. Jackson Adams found Blake Barker in the back of the endzone, marking Adams’ third passing touchdown of the season and Barkers first touchdown of the campaign.
Grayson County worked their way back into the game with 10:06 to play in the first quarter. Quarterback Jordan Stallings found a gap up the middle and broke lose for a 68-yard touchdown run. The Junior’s seventh touchdown made it a one possession game, but that was as close as it would get.
Greenwood scored 49 unanswered points in the first half to go into the intermission with a 63-6 score line. Jackson Adams ran for three touchdowns, Xezayier Snorton ran for two, Zac Brassel added one more, and Malcolm Johnson scored his second special teams touchdown of the night after he blocked a Grayson County punt.
Unofficially Adams ran for 126 yards and sored four of the team’s nine touchdowns. Johnson two special teams touchdowns marked the first time this season that Greenwood scored multiple times off special teams.
