Warren East came out and continued to play its style of basketball on Thursday evening against John Hardin – and that propelled it to a 69-61 victory over the visiting Bulldogs at Raider Gym.
The Raiders (8-3 overall) have now won two-straight games after defeating Logan County 72-57 on Wednesday night.
Coming off a 34-point outing on Wednesday, senior shooting guard TreQuon Patterson finished with 24 points while senior guard Chauncey Greer scored 12 points. Junior forward Tashuan Neal added 11 points.
Big-man Mickey Pearson scored 20 points to lead John Hardin, who fell to 7-5 overall on the year.
The Raiders return to action on Tuesday in a home matchup vs. Todd County Central at 7:30 p.m. while the Bulldogs host North Bullitt on the same day with tipoff set for the same time.
John Hardin led 19-16 after the opening quarter, but Warren East fired back by outscoring the Bulldogs 21-7 in the second to lead 37-26 at halftime.
Although it was down double-digits, the Region 5 club opened the second half with a quick 9-2 run to cut the Raiders’ lead to just four at 39-35. Warren East led 50-43 entering the final period.
In the fourth, both sides continued to battle, but the Raiders escaped with the hard-fought victory.
