ACS Edges Barren in Bluegrass Cellular Battles in the Bluegrass Thriller

Allen County’s junior center Dyllan Harper and senior guard Jared Walden combined for 36 points Friday night against 15th district rival Barren County. The Patriots and ACS were one of two featured games Friday night to kick off Bluegrass Cellular Battles in the Bluegrass. The Patriots win a close one 53-52 over the Trojans to even the score against Barren County after losing by two points to the Trojans on December 10th. IMG_7323

The Patriots improve to 2-3 in district play after winning back-to-back games over Glasgow in overtime and tonight’s game against Barren County.

The Patriots shot 48.9% from the field compared to Barren County 40.4% for the game; however the Trojans dominated with points in the paint 26-18. The Patriots countered with their outside game shooting a blistering 46.2% from 3-point land verses the Trojans 21.4%. ACS junior guard Jake Sikes added 10, Day 2, Cook 2 and Spencer added 3 for the game.

Barren County’s senior guard Ben Leftwich led all scoring for the Trojans with 18 followed by McCoy and Comer with 9 each. Barrett Billingsley added 8, Bo Hubbard 4 points/ 9 rebounds, Nick and Zach Mabe both added 2 points. The Trojans move to 3-2 in district play.
