Barren County, Greenwood both seeking to turn seasons around

Barren County and Greenwood have both had their struggles this season.

When the two sides meet on Friday night at Greenwood High School, they’ll both be looking to turn their respected campaigns around.

Greenwood (1-3) enters Week 5 after a obliterating 63-6 loss at Franklin-Simpson last Friday. The Gators recorded just 116 yards of offense — including just five passing yards — and were dominated in every aspect by the Wildcats. Franklin racked up 572 yards and six different Wildcats ran for at least one touchdown.

Gators’ quarterback Jackson Adams was held to 27 yards on the ground and only completed one pass.

Barren County (0-4) looks for its first win in the Jackson Arnett era on Friday at Greenwood. The Trojans, who are playing all of their 2017 games on the road because of stadium renovations, lost 43-0 at Monroe County in Week 4. Barren has only been able to score 14 total points this year — seven at Casey County in Week 1 and seven at Allen County-Scottsville in Week 2.

Greenwood won last season’s meeting, 42-6, at home.
