BG Keeps Season Alive with Win over Greenwood

IMG_7062The Purples began their run through the district tourney with a matchup with the Greenwood Gators on Thursdaynight.  Unfortunately, much of the conversation for this game traveled to topics off the hardwood, as Greenwood’s head coach resigned earlier in the week.
The Gators were able to execute their gameplan early in the contest, and even held a two point lead at the end of the first quarter.  But BG began to find their towards the end of the half, and the Purples lead 27-23 at the break.
Coach Sherrill went to the press early and often in the third quarter, and the Purples dominated the period with it, outscoring Greenwood 19-5.  They were able to build on that lead in the fourth quarter, and get their largest win over the Gators this season 63-37.  Nacarius Fant was the lone Purple to score in double figures with 20.
The Purples head the District Championship on Saturday night, but the Lady Purple have the floor tomorrow evening, taking on South Warren for the district crown.  Join us for all the action on PurplesNation.com!
