The Greenwood Gators moved to 4-0 on the season, after beating the Logan County Cougars 5-1 Tuesday night at Logan County High School.
The Gators couldn’t get anything going against Morehead State-bound Caleb Bruner for the first 5 innings, aside from a solo shot to left-center field off the bat of Russ Kerr.
In the 6th inning, however, the Gators made their adjustments and rocked Bruner for 4 runs and knocked him out the game.
Greenwood starter Ben Cole threw 6 innings of one-run ball, allowing the leadoff hitter to cross the plate, and nothing more.
Drew Hayles came to the mound to pitch the 7th, and struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced, and capped the win.
The Gators will be back in action Thursday against Glasgow in the Swamp.
