Big Second Half Propels Lady Spartans Past Franklin-Simpson

The Lady Spartans (19-7) got off to a slow start as they trailed Franklin-Simpson (20-3) 14-11 after the 1st quarter. They couldn’t seem to handle the post play of Sydney Gooch as she scored bucket after bucket in the first half. Then something changed half way through the 2nd as Timitry Patterson absolutely took over on offense and defense. She finished the half with 9 and South lead by 2 at half 27-25._MG_5388
The 3rd seemed to be more of the same as the ladies came out a little sluggish and only scored 6 in the entire quarter. Little did the crowd know that they were setting them up for an outlandish 4th quarter as they outscored the wildcats 31-6. Patterson had 18 in the second half and was the leader all over the court. The sick Patterson was throwing up on the sideline during breaks and would run back in and knock down shots. What a gutsy performance by a great player and an even bigger win for the team. The Lady Spartans take down the Wildcats 64-47.
Scoring:
Patterson – 27
Downing – 13
Franklin Simpson
Gooch – 15
