McDaniel Leads Spartans with 24 but Fall Short Against Purples

BG va SW1
BGHS was raucous, it was loud, and the energy and atmosphere was awesome from both student sections as the Spartans visited the Purples.  BG scored the first 9 of the game and controlled the evening, but the big story is the no-quit attitude of South Warren.
Down 19 in the third period, the Spartans, led by 24 big points from Zach McDaniel, cut it to 41-31 before a few bounces went all wrong for them and the lead ballooned back out to 15.  Nacarius Fant had an excellent night for the Purples, finishing with 16, and Joseph Ayers with four blocks set the tone defensively.  The Spartans lose 64-43 but refused to give up at any point.
South Warren, now 6-8, looks to end a five game losing skid on Tuesday night when they play Todd County Central in the first home game of 2014.
