Boys Basketball: Bardstown knocks off Bethlehem in District action

What makes the Bardstown –Bethlehem boy’s basketball rivalry so interesting is the contrast in styles and the fact that both schools are less than a few miles away and even through it is the Public school-Private school scenario, it’s usually a close well fought game. 526856_10202952462598115_1946349296_n

This one was not. Senior Jalen Stone, who is part of the Tigers second unit, came up with an assist-layup-three pointer and another three pointer to break a 15-11 first half lead into a 33-16 halftime Bardstown advantage on the way towards a big win over the Eagles. Coach James Brewer, who is in his fourth year at Bardstown, has always put together a competitive team each season despite numerous graduations of starters. This one is no different as it is as athletic and quick as the last three which all made a serious 5th Region title run. L J Cowherd came up with a game high 14 points for the surging Bardstown Tigers (12-4) defeated Bethlehem (6-8), 59-38.
