Chris Seabolt has resigned as head football coach at Greenwood High School. Seabolt led the Gators for five seasons (2013-17) going 29-29 during that time. His 29 wins rank him as the second winningest coach in Greenwood history. Seabolt’s teams have a combined 3-5 record in the KHSAA state playoffs during his tenure at GHS. The three playoff wins also are second in school history & his teams were the first in Greenwood history to win a playoff game in three consecutive seasons. Seabolt’s tenure will be highlighted by a pair of 9-3 seasons (2015-16). Those two-year win totals are the most wins in consecutive seasons (18) for Greenwood’s program. In 2016, GHS rose to a #3 ranking in Class 5A, the highest the Gators have ever been ranked.
“I am grateful for the opportunity of leading this program for the past 5 seasons, coaching these young men and working with an outstanding coaching staff. In addition to our players and coaches, our booster club is second to none. Their support for our program has been tremendous” said Seabolt.
Seabolt will continue teaching at Greenwood high school.
“I love teaching here at Greenwood High, but intend to coach football. If the right coaching opportunity presents itself somewhere else, and is in the best interest of my family I would consider it” said Seabolt.
