Cards Get Louder Than Life Victory

by Steve Thompson

The Ville was rocking two Saturday’s ago. Not only was the band Pantera pounding the pavement at the concert, but the Louisville Cardinals were also jamming with their new brand of offense, as they crushed Boston College, 56-28. The Cardinals looked sharp early providing excellent coverage for quarterback Jack Plummer. The Cards scored early and often, as they amassed 42-points in the first half, the most points scored by Louisville in a half since 2016.

Offensively, the Cardinals mixed it up, keeping the BC defensive linebackers and secondary wondering what was next. When Plummer wasn’t throwing downfield, Jawhar Jordan was spinning turf, finishing the day with 134-yards on 18-carries and a 75-yard touchdown reception. Plummer had an impressive day going 18-of-21 for 355-yards and no interceptions. He was poised and accurate, as the offense is firing on all cylinders.

Although the Cardinal defense had its big moments, Boston College did have some success splitting secondary seams and running outside. These vulnerabilities will be needed to be addressed as the schedule will test the team over the next month. NC State (which they defeated later in the week) and Notre Dame are not afraid to push the secondary envelope.

The Louisville Cardinals should propel themselves into the top 25 this week. With Coach Brohm focused on Continuous improvement, this may prove to be a special season for the Louisville Cardinals
