Close But No ……………….

First half was very similar to last week against Warren Central for South Warren, who used tenacious defense and played aggressively offensively. Dayton Gumm had four, both off steals and finishes on the other end.  Zach McDaniel had six in the first half, but it was the defense and rebounding from SW that caused Bowling Green trouble early…Fant and Sine couldn’t get open looks from the field.  23-20 SW after the first half._MG_3364
Second half was just the beginning…so was overtime…it took double overtime for BG to win it 55-54.  Zach McDaniel had 18 and led all scorers and was named GoSpartanNation.com Player of the Game for his efforts. Austin Bybee hit a fallaway three with 3.4 seconds left in regulation to tie it and send the game to overtime at 48-48.  Derrick Clubb was kind enough to join us afterwards and said it very candidly – “We were terrible offensively at the worst time.”
South Warren travels to Greenwood on Friday…they are now 11-12 on the season and have lost to WC and BG by one point respectively over the past two Tuesdays.
Zach McDaniel – 18
Austin Bybee – 9
Dayton Gumm – 8
Brad Logsdon – 6
