Warren Central’s Dunn to play for Union College

Warren Central senior Blake Dunn signed with Union College to continue his collegiate football career next fall. The NAIA school in Barbourville offered Dunn after the future Tiger nearly did not play football at Central this past fall. Had it not been for Coach Howard Feggins’ recruitment of Dunn to play football for the Dragons, his college recruitment would have never happened. Dunn helped lead Warren Central through a tough schedule to a 6-5 record.

Bowling Green’s Scott to play at Allan Hancock College

Darrian Scott’s long-awaited decision finally came to an end. The Bowling Green senior signed with Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California choosing to further his football career far from home. After losing his mother and grandmother in consecutive years, Scott faced adversity that most high school students don’t have to face; however, the star defensive end has made the most of his opportunity. He graduates with a senior class at BG that finished 55-2 and won three state titles from 2011 to 2013. Scott hopes to receive a Division-I scholarship after playing at Hancock for two seasons. He will be heading to California with friend and high school rival, Emmitt Smith from Warren Central.  Scott’s most famous play at BG may have been when he knocked Pulaski County quarterback Riley Hall out of the game with a ferocious sack in the 2013 Class 5A state championship game.

Warren East’s Brown inks with Kentucky

Consensus four-star linebacker Eli Brown of Warren East inked his letter of intent with the University of Kentucky where he will continue his football career next fall. Brown had an outstanding career as a Raider, totaling 190 tackles and scoring 191 touchdowns while playing on both sides of the ball. He helped lead Warren East to an 8-4 record in 2014 after tearing his ACL late in the 2013 season. Brown’s senior season comeback went so well that he was invited to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound future Wildcat chose Kentucky over WKU, Ohio State, Louisville, and Penn State. Brown expects to redshirt this fall.

Dragons’ Smith signs with Allan Hancock College

Warren Central linebacker Emmitt Smith inked with Allan Hancock College to further his football career at the collegiate level. The community college is located in Santa Maria, California. Smith recovered a fumble and tallied 50 tackles in his senior season of 2014. The Dragons went 34-15 during his career and Smith had six takeaways and five touchdowns, including two defensive scores. Warren Central appeared in two region championship tilts during his career.

The Dragons’ Feggins inks with Murray State

Warren Central wide receiver Jensen Feggins signed to play collegiate football at Murray State next fall after completing his high school career as a Dragon. The senior caught 96 passes for 1,100 yards in his final season after playing his first three high school seasons at Fort Thomas Highlands. After showing little initial interest under former head coach Chris Hatcher, Murray State jumped on Feggins’ recruitment after offensive coordinator Mitch Stewart was promoted to head coach and offered Feggins quickly.
