District 14 Softball Tournament | Bracket, Information, Preview

The 2019 high school softball regular season is officially in the books, but the action on the diamond is just now heating up as the District 14 Softball Tournament is scheduled to take place from Monday to Thursday at South Warren High School.

As all five teams enter with hopes of taking home the trophy, only one club will be crowned district champions.

Here’s a rundown of the tournament, which will make for three exciting days of postseason baseball action.


District 14 Softball Tournament Seeding: 

  1. Warren East
  2. Greenwood
  3. South Warren
  4. Bowling Green
  5. Warren Central

District 14 Softball Tournament Schedule:

  • Monday, May 20 – No. 4 Bowling Green (15-16, 2-6) vs. No. 5 Warren Central (0-25, 0-8) – 5:30 p.m.

Notes: Bowling Green enters the tournament having won three of its last five games, while Warren Central is winless. … The Lady Purples swept the regular-season series over the Lady Dragons with wins of 16-1 and 22-0. … Winner will meet top-seeded Warren East in Tuesday’s semifinals.

  • Tuesday, May 21 – No. 1 Warren East (29-1, 8-0) vs. No. 4 Bowling Green OR No. 5 Warren Central – 5:30 p.m.

Notes: Warren East is the clear favorite entering the tournament having just one loss on the season. … The Lady Raiders swept both Bowling Green and Warren Central in the regular season. … Lucy Patterson leads East with a .529 batting average, while Kelsey Sparks is hitting .520. … On the mound, senior Katie Gardner has just one loss with 259 strikeouts and better than a 1.00 ERA. … Winner advances to Thursday’s district final.

  • Tuesday, May 21 – No. 2 Greenwood (19-10, 6-2) vs. No. 3 South Warren (24-11, 4-4) – 7:30 p.m.

Notes: Greenwood enters the tournament after going 4-2 in its final six regular season games, while South Warren has won eight straight. … The Lady Gators defeated the Spartans twice in the regular season with wins of 4-2 and 9-8. … Kaylie Allen is batting .430 for Greenwood, while Madison Stumbo is hitting .482 for South Warren. … Winner advances to Thursday’s district final.

  • Thursday, May 23 – Championship – 6 p.m.

Notes: The two participants will both advance to the Region 4 Tournament.
