Anastasia Dowlen named 13th District Player of the Year
In concert with Sporting Times media and the online fan vote, Anastasia Dowlen has been named the 13th District Player of the Year.

Anastasia Dowlen, Russellville Junior
Named the Sporting Times’ 13th District Player of the Year, Dowlen led the Lady Panthers in scoring (13.1) and in rebounding (12.3) this past season. The junior’s 12.3 rebounds per game were tops in the 13th District. Dowlen helped lead Russellville back to the 4th Region Tournament for the third-straight season.
Alera Barbee, Franklin-Simpson Senior
Alera Barbee was the district’s fourth-leading scorer at 11.3 points per game and the fifth-leading rebounder at 6.1 per contest. The senior led the Lady Wildcats in free throws made (39) and attempted (67) as they reached the 4th Region semifinals for the first time since 2014.
Lucy Chester, Todd County Central Sophomore
Chester turned in one of the district’s best seasons, averaging 12.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game to lead Todd County Central. Chester led the Lady Rebels to four more wins than in 2019/20 despite playing seven less games.
Amiyah Collier, Russellville Sophomore
Collier had an outstanding sophomore season on the hardwood, averaging 12.8 points on 43% shooting. She also led the Lady Panthers in both free throws made (37) and attempted (64).
Kate Norwood, Franklin-Simpson Senior
Norwood capped off her high school basketball career in style, leading the Lady Wildcats to their first district championship since 2017. She led Franklin in scoring, three-point field goals made, three-point field goals attempted, and free throw percentage. Norwood’s 13.2 scoring average led the 13th District.
Alexis Taylor, Todd County Central Eighth Grader
Alexis Taylor had a breakout season in 2021 as an eighth grader, averaging 10.8 points and 7.7 rebounds on the year. The power forward had a breakout game in an overtime win over Franklin-Simpson in late January when she scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
