By Jason Martin:
Warren Central, fresh off their first loss of 2015 on Friday at Bowling Green, looked to get back on their winning path on Tuesday night against a good Christian County Colonels club. Coach Eades brought his Colonels in as losers of four of their last five, but against supremely tough competition, and with none of those defeats being by double figures. It was the first time these two schools have faced one another since 2012.
Warren Central led most of the first half, with the exception of an early 4-3 deficit and a tie at 24 on an 8-0 Christian County run. Central would finish the first 16 minutes with four players all tied for a Dragons game high at 6. Tyrik Edwards, the pure scorer for the Colonels, had nine at the intermission. Central led it 30-24 entering the second half.
The second half began with six more for Warren Central who would take a 36-24 lead and would eventually lead 41-26. Christian County again refused to go away, finishing with the last ten of the third quarter to cut the lead to 5. Following a technical foul early in the fourth against the Colonels, the Dragons would extend the lead out for good. Jared Savage and Tyrik Edwards would both finish with 25, fitting for two lethal scorers, and Warren Central would win the game 68-50.
FINAL: WC 68, CC 50 (Savage 25, Edwards 25)
