Dragons remain unbeaten against Spartans

In the second half of the doubleheader, Coach William Unseld and the Dragons welcomed in a South Warren team that was 0-6 all time against Warren Central.

The game remained close in the opening few minutes as South Warren’s Jordan Buchanan scored five consecutive points to knot the game up midway through the first period. But, from then on out, the Warren Central press became too much to handle for the Spartans.

Rondell Green and Wayne Baird smothered the South Warren backcourt on almost every inbounds. Often times that resulted in a turnover for the Spartans and an easy bucket for the likes of Kolbe Caldwell or Jemetrius Moore.

Central came out in the second half, leading by 19, with their foots on the gas pedal. Byron Carver hit a three-pointer from the top of the key and Robert Edwards added his second of the game in route to a 36 point second half lead.

Spartan Senior Forward Zach McDaniel scored 19 of his team’s 52 points. No other Spartan had more than seven.

The dragons boasted yet another balanced offensive attack, seeing 12 players make their mark on the scoreboard including seven players with seven or more points.

Central rolled to a 83-52 victory.
