East Spoils Homecoming for the Colonels

The Caverna Colonels looked to give a not-so-warm welcome to Warren East on the night of their Homecoming. East jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first period behind 8 early points from Brandon Walker. From that point on, Caverna launched a 20-14 run to cut the lead back under double digits at the half. The Raiders opened the second half in a similar fashion, racing back out to a 14 point lead in the middle of the third period after Mason Lee stole the ball on back-to-back possessions leading to easy lay-ins. Lee went down with an  injury prompting a comeback effort from the Colonels that lasted until the final whistle. Caverna cut the lead all the way down to two points but, behind the work on the offensive glass by Trae Cardwell, East was able to hang on to the ball and run the clock out with a 57-54 victory._MG_3527
