Chaney Browning is 4-year high school basketball player as well as a third-year tennis player. Chaney was part of Edmonson County’s first tennis team established her sophomore year. Chaney is a hard worker both in and out of school and loves being a part of a sports team. She enjoys her time off the court with her teammates as much as her time on the court.

Chaney has played high school basketball for all four years as well as throughout middle school and tennis for three years. The Edmonson County tennis team just started her sophomore high school year, so she has been able to be with the team since its induction. She serves as a Captain for both teams this school year.
Chaney has maintained a 4.0 or higher GPA throughout her entire academic career. She is a member of the Beta, DECA, HOSA, Horticulture and Pep Clubs. She has also been a member of the student council as well as a class officer.
Chaney was chosen based on her academic achievements by the Superintendent of Edmonson County Schools to greet our governor when he visited Edmonson County High School for the first time ever in February to award $11 million dollars in state funding to build the Local Area Vocational Education Center.
Chaney was also chosen by her Allied Health teacher to explain how the Allied Health Pathways Program works at Edmonson County High School where she takes classes to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She gave the governor a tour of their classroom where they learn skills related to the healthcare field. She was also chosen again to greet the Lieutenant Governor in August to provide opening remarks and introduce Lt. Governor Coleman when she visited Edmonson County High School for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Local Area Vocational Education Center.
Upon graduation from Edmonson County High School, Chaney plans to attend Western Kentucky University and become a nurse and hopes to eventually work in Labor and Delivery.
Congratulations to Chaney Browning for being selected February’s Toyota of Bowling Green Scholar Athlete of the Month.
