Elizabethtown Mourns the loss of Brianna Taylor

Brianna Jewell-Rachae Taylor, 17, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at University of Louisville Hospital as a result of a two vehicle collision.  She was a 2014 graduate of Elizabethtown High School.  An outstanding student and athlete, Brianna played varsity softball for seven years, where she was All-District 2014, All-Area tournament 2010 and 2013. Other honors included Miss Freshman and Miss Sophomore; 2013-14 Homecoming Court, 2013 National Council of Youth Leadership and class secretary for 2011-’12. Brianna played summer ball with Heartland Rage and Louisville TPX.  Brianna was an incoming freshman at Western  Kentucky University to pursue becoming a speech pathologist.

Brianna recently appeared on the Sporting Times Radio show on May 31st. Brianna’s passion for life, her family and her faith, radiated within her beautiful smile. Brianna was a special young lady. Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with the Taylor family for their tragic loss.

Funeral services are Thursday at noon at the Valley Creek Baptist Church in Hardin County. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

The Family has requested expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Elizabethtown High School softball program.
