Elizabethtown Red Hot after win over Montgomery County

It seems like each year in the 5th Region one team seems to emerge as the favorite and this season all things seem to point to the Elizabethtown Panthers Boys Basketball team. After their second big win over North Hardin last Tuesday, they capped off a great week with a 29-point win over previously unbeaten Montgomery County, 81-52 in the night cap of the Nathan McCurry Classic at John Hardin. Panther senior guard Nic McDonald scored a game high 32-points and Elizabethtown hit 9 three’s  while the defense held Indians (19-1) to just 33% and were thoroughly outplayed. IMG_2701

Elizabethtown (18-4) has the look of a championship contender with a dangerous perimeter game and a swarming defense that can take you out of your game quickly. The Panthers haven’t lost since a January 2nd road game at Taylor County (73-61).
