After having extremely successful football seasons, Bowling Green’s Nacarius Fant and Warren Central’s Chris Porter-Bunton have taken their talents to the hardwood to begin 2014. On January 7th, Fant and Porter-Bunton were added to the McDonald’s All-American Game Nominee List. The two players were the only nominees from the city of Bowling Green, and two of the twenty-two from the state of Kentucky.
Both Fant and Porter-Bunton have seen their teams play well to this point in the season. Fant’s Purples won 10 games in a row to boost their record to 10-2 before losing to John Hardin. Porter-Bunton’s Dragons are 7-4 and won the Hancock Bank Classic in December. The two players have played big roles in their three seasons at their respective schools. Porter-Bunton helped the Dragons to regional titles in 2011 and 2013, while Fant aided to Bowling Green’s 2012 run to the state tournament.
The selections for the McDonald’s All-American 24-man roster will be announced on January 29th. Both of these players have helped their teams immensely in their high school careers, and they deserve praise and notoriety for how they have played in high school.
