Greenwood has No Luck Against #1 Bowling Green in District Championship

The Greenwood Gators lost their second game of the regular season 50-0 when the boys in green faced off against the Bowling Green Purples.
With the district championship on the line, both teams came out of the gate motivated to impose their will on the other team with a couple very good defensive stands. It was the Purples that broke through first, however. Jamale Carothers took his hand off and pushed it up the middle for a 20-yard touchdown run to give the Purples a lead they would not relinquish.cvvrayiwgaa7-uo1
The Greenwood offense was stifled by the Bowling Green defensive front. The Gators were held to a season low for offensive production and shut out for the first time since 2014.
Jackson Adams finished with 10 total yards. While it was a new low for Adams, those ten yards did push him over the 1,000 yard mark for the second time of his career.
Greenwood will close out the regular season next week at home against Warren Central. The game will be the Gator’s senior night. Twelve Greenwood seniors will be honored during those festivities. Kickoff is set for 7 P.M. and you can catch all the action on STBN with pregame beginning at 6:45 P.M.
