Hall and Haas Place First at Gatorland Run

Gatorland Run along with the many elementary and middle schools, attracted 16 high schools and 8 colleges from the mid-south that highlighted many former high school athletes from the south central Kentucky area: Wade Harris, Aaron Osborne, Austin Childress, Ross Allen and Taylor Blankenship to name a few. The girls race was won by Caroline Haas of South Warren (19:32) ahead of Greenwood’s leading Lady Gator, Lynda Scannell (19:44). Hancock won the event by 1 point over runner-up South Warren (Lucy Knudson – 9th – 21:02; Isabelle Graves – 11th – 21:29; Haylee White – 14th – 21:50). Greenwood finished third (Megan Perez – 16th – 21:58; Hope Leeper – 17th – 21:59; Madi Daniels – 21st – 22:08; Ashley Spiller – 24th – 22:30) beating Bowling Green on a tie-breaker (Samantha Sutton – 6th place – 20:29; Sallie Sutton – 7th place – 20:39; Kristen Dent – 10th – 21:17; Cherree Miller 12th place 21:43). Barren County’s 5th place team finish was led by Kirsten Thomerson’s 13th place finish and Kayla Roeder’s 15th place finish (21:50). IMG_4597

The boys race was won by Bowling Green’s Trajon Hall (16:43). The Purples finished 3rd (Deshawn Crowe – 11 – 17:49; Brian Kanan – 14th – 18:00). Logan County Cougars were runner-up and led by Gage Cousineau’s 12th place finish (17:50) ahead of teammate Thomas Lyne (17:53). Green County won the race with 39 points. They were led by Dedrick Troxell 3rd place finish (17:08) , Lucas Judd 7th place finish (17:37) ahead of teammate Chris Sallee (17:40). Barren County was led by Matthew Read’s 15th place finish (18:05), Brandon Reed ‘s 26th place finish (18:24). The Greenwood Gators 5th place finish was led by Sam Ward’s 4th place finish (17:17), Connor Hartis (25th – 18:22), Sam Carini (33rd – 18:40), Tate McClard (39th – 18:55), and Wil Scott (45th – 19:10). South Warren finished 6th and were led by Kyle Woodward’s 10th place finish (17:48) and Tim Ford (22nd – 18:18). Allen County’s Clint Pommier (29th – 18:33) and James Estes (30th – 18:36) paced the Patriots to a 9th place finish. Austin Sassee (9th – 17:41) led Edmonson’s team to a 10th place finish.
