Hurricane Relief Supplies to be Collected Prior to Battle of Unbeaten Teams Friday

by Donnie Meador

The Allen County-Scottsville Patriots and the Glasgow Scotties meet on the gridiron for the 40th time Friday at 7 p.m. at Patriot Stadium. The game night will include the collection of supplies that will be used for hurricane relief efforts.

With thousands already impacted by hurricane Harvey and the potential for future needs from hurricane Irma, Allen County-Scottsville High School officials have organized a relief supply drive.

Many Americans will or have been affected by these hurricanes, noted high school educator Myra Little. “Here at Allen County Scottsville High School, we try to instill the value of helping and showing compassion to others.  Thus, we decided to conduct a Hurricane Relief Supply Drive at this Friday’s home football game against Glasgow. We encourage the entire school and Scottsville community to give what they can to help others in this time of need.”

School officials will be collecting needed supplies at the entrance gate to the ballgame on Friday. Collected supplies will be donated to the American Red Cross for distribution. A list of supplies that can be donated can be found at news page of the Allen County-Scottsville High School  (http://www.allen.kyschools.us/ACSHSNewsCurrentEvents.aspx)
