Jackson’s Five Greatest Hits,Scores 5 TD’s Against Scotties, Sets School Record

The Greenwood Gators handed the Glasgow Scotties their first loss of the season in a 45-12 rout.
The Greenwood rushing attack took center stage as the boys in green broke the single game rushing record by running for 447 yards against the Scotties. The original record was set back in 1996 against Monroe County.
Jackson Adams led the way with his unofficial stats totaling 245 yards on the ground and five touchdowns. Adams also threw for two touchdowns, which is a season high for passing touchdowns.
Tanner Dawson drilled home a 22-yard field goal to open the scoring for the Gators. Jackson Adams followed that up on the very next possession with a seven-yard touchdown run to give Greenwood a 10-point lead.
The second quarter began with Adams connecting on the first passing touchdown of the season for the Gators. Adams connected with his tight-end Riley Sadler for a 31-yard touchdown pass.
Dessi Austin broke Glasgow into the scoring column with a touchdown pass to Ben Hughes, and then followed that up with another touchdown pass, this time to Trayjan Bradley.  Greenwood responded on the verge of halftime with a 16-yard pass from Adams to Malcolm Johnson making it 24-12 at the halftime intermission.
Coming out of the gate, Greenwood continued its dominance on offense. Xezayier Snorton broke loose for a 73-yard touchdown run to extend the Gator’s advantage. Jackson Adams finished out the game with a couple more touchdown runs, one from 14 yards out and one from 30 yards out.
The Greenwood defense also stood tall against Glasgow. The Gators thrived at getting into the backfield and disrupting Dessi Austin rhythm. The Gators brought down Austin six times and pressured the senior numerous times.
Greenwood improves to 5-1 on the season while Franklin Simpson falls to 4-1. The Gators return home next week to begin district play against Barren County. Kickoff is set for 7 P.M. next Friday with pregame starting at 6:45 P.M.
