Morning groups finished before the rain moved in this afternoon at the 2015 Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac Girls State Golf Championships. Franklin-Simpson senior Mary Joiner finished even par 72, just 3 strokes off the leader Kristen Engle of Barbourville who shot a 69 along with Teri Doss of Paducah Tilghman. Last year’s runner up Elizabethtown senior Lauren Hartlage finished one over par 73.
Many players are still on the course playing in periodic downpours but should be able to finish their round. Saturday’s final round is shaping up to be a shootout at the Bowling Green Country Club.
