After suffering their first region loss of the season against Allen County Scottsville, the Lady Purples looked to bounce back with a district matchup Friday night, facing Warren Central. Two weeks ago, the Lady Purples controlled from opening tip to final buzzer, but the Lady Dragons certainly made it more interesting this time around.
Neither team would really be able to put a run together in the first quarter, as we traded baskets back and forth. But the Lady Purples would go cold in the second quarter, only scoring 5 points. They would trail at the half 23-24. The Lady Dragons would continue through most of the third quarter, but some huge threes from Markizjah Mimms would put the Lady Purples up for good to start the fourth quarter, as the Lady Purples held on for a 54-46 victory. TaMia Matthews led the Lady Purples with 11 points. Keely Morrow had 10, and Mimms had 9.
