Lady Purples’ Season Ends in Region Final to Glasgow

Bowling Green took to the floor Sunday afternoon looking for their third title in 4 years, but standing in their way was the Glasgow Lady Scotties, the favorite coming into this year’s tournament._MG_4538
Bowling Green came out ready to go, but a couple quick fouls on Makayla Gray really got to BG, and Glasgow was able to capitalize, building a 22-11 lead at the end of the first.  Breanna Glover and Shalika Smith dominated the second quarter, and almost had the running clock going into the second half, leading 49-18.  But Bowling Green fought hard in the third, outscoring Glasgow 24-12 in the third to trim it down to a 19 point deficit, but could not get any closer in the fourth quarter, and the Lady Scotties held on for the win 79-59.  Oneisha Turner fueled the effort for Bowling Green, with 32 points.
That wraps up our coverage of the Lady Purples this season, but we’re not done yet!  Purples hit the court tomorrow night, taking on Barren County.  Catch all the action on PurplesNation.com!
