Logan County looks to keep unscathed record alive against Hopkinsville

Logan County has had a remarkable 2017 football season through six weeks of play.

The Cougars (6-0 overall, 1-0 District 1) are off to one of their best starts in program history and will look to continue their success on Thursday night against Hopkinsville.

Hopkinsville (1-5, 0-1) travels to Russellville after losing 35-20 at home to Madisonville-North Hopkins in Week 6.

In the Tigers’ setback, quarterback Javier Blank threw for 184 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Mitchell Degenhardt rushed for 62 yards and a TD.

Logan County enters Week 7 following a 38-8 win at Hopkins County Central last week. Cougars’ offensive pilot Tyler Ezell passed for 193 yards and two scores while wide receiver Kelby Epley caught three passes for 76 yards and a TD.

The Cougars are ranked No. 6 in Class 4A in the latest Kentucky Associated Press high school poll. Hopkinsville is unranked, but received nine votes.
