Mary Taylor Cowles Returns to Bowling Green

Foundation Christian Academy is excited to announce that Mary Taylor Cowles was revealed as the new Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and Head Girls Basketball Coach on Friday, April 26 during an upper school assembly at today. While serving as the Head Coach at WKU, Cowles’s three children attended FCA. 

Cowles said, “I am excited about this wonderful opportunity to be at FCA and to work in an educational environment that emphasizes the principles that I firmly believe in. I am also excited to take on the role of athletic director and to be in a position to help lead so many wonderful coaches and student-athletes. FCA is growing and has incredible potential throughout our area communities. FCA has always had a special place in my heart due to the wonderful experiences all three of our children had while attending FCA. This opportunity for me to give back to the school with my time, my energy and my leadership ability is very exciting to me. Go Falcons!”

Most recently, Coach Cowles has been the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Coach at Ensworth in Nashville where she led them to four state championships. Dr. David Pahman, the President at FCA said, “Coach Cowles is not only a skilled coach, she is an inspiration to the coaches and players that she meets. She will take our athletic program to another level.”

FCA, a KHSAA member, started a middle school girls basketball team in 2022. Matt Bastin, the Upper School Principal said, “I am excited to have Mrs. Cowles join our already amazing staff and school. I value her wisdom and experience that she brings. I look forward to her helping build our high school girls basketball program.”
